Kathryn Blume is an actor, writer, yoga teacher, and co-founder of the Lysistrata Project, the first worldwide theatrical event for peace. She has toured her solo shows to over 50 cities in the US, Canada, and UK, and garnered an Outstanding Activism Award from the Vermont Environmental Action Conference for her one-woman global warming show “The Boycott,” which she’ll be performing in Copenhagen during the climate talks in December. She has had essays published in the books “MoveOn.org’s 50 Ways To Love Your Country,” Code Pink’s “Stop the Next War Now,” “Outcry - American Voices of Conscience Post 9/11,” and “365 Ways to Change the World.” Kathryn founded “Earth on the Air,” a nationally-syndicated, award-winning environmental and social justice radio program and co-founded The Hill Actor’s Retreat Center and New Paradigms Personal Coaching Services. She has taught yoga, acting, stress-reduction, and public speaking in venues across the US. She serves on the steering committee for her local Transition Town initiative and on the boards of the Lewis Creek Association, The Willowell Foundation, and Cerimon House. Kathryn received her BA from Yale with a self-designed degree in environmental studies and theater and lives in the woods with her husband Mark and their breakfast-themed cats Toast, Tazo, and Jamba.
