This is a special message I wrote last night to the over 3000 people around the world who are fasting today for climate justice. The text is here.

  • Phew - Paul such magnificent eloquence on such an empty belly. Your courage and clarity continue to inspire me. Go well as you come off the fast. Hugs, Sue

And remember - when the people lead, the leaders will follow.

  • Paul and All fellow fasters thank you
I am amazed at the truth in your words.
I am 49 Years old and in the last 6 Months I have grown more as a person than I ever thought possible,
I fasted with you yesterday and I was fortunate to have had the time to reflect on many things,
All of the words in your message ring very true.
And although the times are scary I have never felt more alive and more inspired. I send my love and commitment to all fellow fasters around the world and all fellow orators of the truth, equality, justice and love. As we stand together to right the wrongs of the past we are invincible.

  • Thank you so much for your courage in undertaking this initiative for the planet.  I fasted with you yesterday, and am prepared to fast further, which we may need to do here in Canada if it could be a way to put pressure on our intransigent prime minister, Stephen Harper. We can fill our bellies easily today if we live in affluent countries, but what about our descendents?  And what about the nearly 1 billion people living on the margins, barely surviving right now?  And what about the effects of increasing drought and flooding due to atmospheric carbon?  The fast demonstrates suffering now by choice so that we can see and think about those other suffering now, not by choice, and to think about the future.
    in peace,
    Lyn A.

  • The power of our imminent destruction gradually (too gradually) bringing all of humanity together. Who’d have thought “The Messiah” would be Ecosus? Ecological sustainability is the answer to ecological susceptibility = Ecosus. Golly, philosophy at 0645 on a Monday!

What an inspiration you are! Thank you.

  • Brilliant words Paul.

My own name for this evolutionary leap is the emergence of Globo Sapiens.

We will witness, and create, the first truly global culture, transcending nationalism and tribalism. We will witness the rise of distributed leadership, energy production and bioregional markets and communities. We will experience sustainability as a core value.

As you say these are exciting days. A true crisis - a dangerous opportunity for us all and for all of life on Earth.

“The most dangerous strategy is to jump a chasm in two leaps.” - Benjamin Disraeli (1804-1881)

    Let’s make the jump together!!
