Sara Monial and Satyavayu sat outside in Portland, Oregon in the cold and rain for four days in solidarity with the global fasting movement starting on November 6th. It started with a gorgeous rainbow over the Willamette River, and continued through torrential rainstorms and occasional bursts of sun.

They started on the riverside, moved to a craft market on the third day, and finished by the library of Portland State University, where they engaged with the largest audience.  Several folks joined the sitting each day, including two one-day fasters.  At night they stayed at an activist art gallery called Sea Change, whose residents are planning on attending the Copenhagen Climate conference in December.
