Alexandra Ambros

In support of the rolling fast at Williams college, Alexandra will be doing her official solidarity fast on Dec 10th. She will also attempt to fast for all 12 days of the COP15 conference.
"Originally from Vermont, I have spent a considerable amount of time living and working in Denali National Park, Alaska as well as traveling to many locations around the country and the world. I am thankful to my parents and close-knit family who encouraged a sense of responsibility and stewardship over the land through much time spent out hiking, gardening, and simply observing the beautiful world that we are blessed to live in. Although this same sense of stewardship has definitely caused me considerable distress at times as I get the feeling that there are few other people who really share this belief and are willing to actively fill the role.
"My commitment to regular short fasts started as an accident of not packing enough food on an extending backpacking trip which ultimately allowed for a more in depth observation of the world, mostly because I was really trying to distract myself from feeling hungry. Now, I use it as a means of re-focusing on my beliefs and achieving a sense of center when I feel that I am being overwhelmed by the modern world and loosing awareness of the natural beauty in the world."
